My name is Jim Tucker, and I am a professional artist . Growing up as a kid I used to love the show Sesame Street, with Big bird and Oscar the grouch and watch it on TV all the time . I obtained BFA in design from the University of Kansas in 1988 and as a young adult my friends always called me " Tuck " and to this day, they all still do. At the age of 26 two years after graduating from the University of Kansas I was stricken down with a rare illness, called transverse myelitis, and I couldn't even walk. when I went to the mayo clinic in Rochester Minnesota, the doctors told me might not be able to walk again they didn't know. Well I knew and over the next three years I battled back to be a healthy 29 year old got married, had 2 beautiful children. (That are the best artwork we can ever create FYI). but unfortunately got divorced some time later in 2005 and it was at that time I decided to paint and use my art degree. I entered my first show in Charlotte North Carolina, and actually had a lady cry She was so happy looking at my painting ,I could not believe it. I sold eight out of 10 paintings that I had made. my best friend looked at me and said Tuck" maybe you should do this for a living.... fast forward 18 years later Tuckstreet is born . After selling over 1,500 acrylic paintings and making those customers smile every day with happiness . I can now bring that same passion and happiness to my clothing designs, No longer is it just paintings.
